• Device information: Device type, operating system, and push notification tokens for order alerts.
• Usage data: How you interact with the app, screens visited, and features used, to improve our service.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and operate the AfroBites platform, including processing orders and reservations.
• Send order confirmations, booking updates, and service notifications.
• Improve and personalise your experience on the platform.
• Process payments securely through our payment partners (Pesepay and Stripe).
• Communicate platform updates, new features, and relevant promotions.
• Comply with legal obligations.

4. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We may share your information with:

• Restaurants: Your name and order details are shared with the restaurant fulfilling your order or reservation.
• Couriers: Your delivery address and first name are shared with the assigned courier during active deliveries.
• Payment processors: Pesepay and Stripe process payment information. We only receive a confirmation reference — never your full card details.
• Service providers: Third-party tools we use to operate the platform (e.g. push notification services, analytics).

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption for all data in transit, bcrypt hashing for passwords, and encrypted storage for sensitive payment identifiers. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at privacy@afrobites.co.zw. Certain data may be retained for legal or accounting purposes.
